Sony Electronics has just started highlighting more than ten new products, namely high-definition network security cameras, aside from the company's full complement of HD video security technologies, including IPELA, at ISC West.

The cameras are grouped in three categories, namely the E Series that includes entry-level models mixing high picture quality and comprehensive features and cost-effective pricing, the X Series includes cameras that deliver high-performance and a small footprint, while the V Series, the company's flagship, incorporates the latest technological discoveries, like View-DR and Distributed Enhanced Processing Architecture (DEPA) Advanced.

"Sony's commitment to HD is evident in the release of our latest security products," said Miguel Lazatin, senior manager, marketing, Sony Security Division.  "Leveraging top quality imaging technology developed for broadcast and feature film work, Sony cameras offer integrators and end users the highest quality image in some of the most challenging security environments."

The improved picture quality is due to the company's innovations like the View-DR and Exmor sensors. View-DR technology packs the newest Wide-D technology with Visibility Enhancer, and XDNR that enables cameras to provide quality HD imagery, virtually in the most dim lit environments. Quite a lot of models now pack in-camera analytics to ensure system feedback and image analysis in real time.

"The hallmark of Sony's full line of security products on display at ISC West 2010 is ease of installation and operation," added Lazatin. "This means Sony offers flexibility; must have features and reliability in its HD cameras, encoders, servers and recorders for analog and IP systems."

As for the SNT-EX104 standalone 4-channel video encoder that you can see pictured above to the left, Sony provides you with 30fps in D1 resolution for JPEG, MPEG-4 or H.264 and DEPA Advanced analytics. Storage-wise, the Sony NSR-1000 Series have a storage capacity ranging between 500GB and 4TB and can support up to 20 cameras, on each recorder.
