Since there's not that much time left before PMA starts, the world's best-known manufacturers of various pieces of equipment related in any way to digital photography are already starting to come up with new and improved products, in a bid to catch the customer's attention and spend a little more time in the spotlight. And that's also the case with Sony, which has launched quite a few new digital cameras lately, including here the Cyber-shot T900 and T90 models.
These two ultra-slim and elegant digital cameras are without a doubt targeting those people for whom the design of an electronic device is equally important to its functionality. So, the T900, which measures just 15.1mm in thickness, is available in a choice of silver, black, red and bronze color finishes, while the 13.9mm T90 offers silver, black, brown, pink and blue color options.
However, when it comes to the quality of the photos, the two compact cameras are a lot more than simple “pretty faces.” Hence, each of them feature 12.1-megapixel sensors, accompanied by Carl Zeiss 4x optical zoom lenses. They also sport Optical SteadyShot technology for clearer handheld shooting, as well as Enhanced Face Detection and Smile Shutter technologies.
For image processing, the Cyber-shot T900 and T90 make use of the BIONZ processor, which ensures low-noise images in any shooting situation. In order to make things easier for the user, the devices also provide Intelligent Auto modes, which prompt the camera to automatically analyze the scene and set the appropriate settings for the subject.
As mentioned right from the title, these two cameras also provide 720p HD movie recording, allowing users to capture video clips at 30 frames per second (up to 60 minutes of HD video and stereo sound can be stored on a 4GB MemoryStick).
Sony's new T900 and T90 Cyber-shot digital cameras will be available starting end-March 2009, but the exact pricing has not been revealed yet, given the fact that it will probably differ between the various local markets these things will be released on.
