I have to admit that I am a huge fan of the Vaio Z series of notebooks since theyseem to offer the ultimate mix between portability, performance and build quality, although all of these surely add up to an impressive price, the latest 13 inch Z13 model starting at no less then $2,249.99.
So what do you get for this much doe, you ask?
Well, apart from one of the most stylish 13 inch notebooks available you will also receive the latest offering of
Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, the 2.53GHz Core i5-460M coming as the “slowest” option, the Intel Core i5-580M or Core i7-640M CPUs being also available.
Next to that,
Sony can also add 8GB of DDR3 RAM, 256GB or 512GB SSD drives (or a 750GB hard drive if you are more old school), an optional Blu-Ray burner as well as a SDXC card reader and a NVIDIA GeForce GT330M graphics card (sorry, no Fermi just yet).
All these are accompanied by a 13.1 inch Full HD display (yeah, you read that right, we get a full 1920x1080 resolution) and some new lid color choices, an optional carbon fiber casing being listed among the available options.
So if all of these sound as tempting to you as they do to me, then you will be happy to know the new 13 inch
Vaio Z will be available this October, although, at those prices, I think many of us will have to settle for some plain, old, window shopping. (via
