As you might have noticed by taking a quick look at our reviews section, we've managed to get our hands on quite a few multimedia players from Sony over the past couple of months, whether we're talking about more entry-level products or some of the higher-end ones. For this reason, we've also tried our best to get to review one of the latest Walkman players to arrive on the market, the super-thin and uber-elegant NWZ-A845 model, pertaining to the Japanese company's A Series of players.

The first time we encountered Sony's super-slim Walkman was during our press trip to the company's Amsterdam HQ, where we had the chance to take a look at some of the latest products to arrive on the market in 2010. Even back then, the player drew our attention in terms of design and video quality, so we really couldn't pass on the opportunity of spending some more “alone” time with it.

Anyway, despite waiting for a few months before being able to thoroughly test this thing, we believe the wait was well worth it. And that's because the A845 is, without a doubt, one of the most attractive and modern Walkman players developed by Sony, in spite of the fact that it lacks a few features, at least when compared to the other OLED display-equipped Walkman we've tested, the X Series NWZ-X1050 model.

Unlike the X Series device, whose main control system was its touchscreen display, the A Series portable music and video player relies on a more classic combo of buttons, namely exactly the same one used in the case of both the S-Series NWZ-S739F and the E-Series NWZ-E443 models. Plus, the A Series is, sadly, not an Internet-capable device, which, as far as we're concerned, is somewhat of a minus, especially in our modern, ultra-connected world.

On the other hand, the A Series model has quite a few attractive features on its side, especially in the field of design, the NWZ-A845 being one of the thinnest players out there (just 7.2-mm thick).
