Sound and music aficionados aside, there aren't many people looking for Creative-branded devices nowadays. Gone are the days when everyone was looking for Creative sound cards or accessories. Well, the company is not one to give up without a fight so it designed the Sound Blaster Wireless System, a device that also states it is especially meant for iTunes but you can take my word for it... whether it is iTunes, Winamp or Media Player, they will work.
Compatible with both PC and Mac, the wireless sound system can be simply plugged into the USB port and... well... that's it. You just plug it in and start streaming music wirelessly to your speakers or home stereo system with the Sound Blaster Wireless Receiver. The Wireless speakers can be placed anywhere you want around the house. The Sound Blaster Wireless for iTunes supports X-Fi CMSS-3D, EAX 4.0 and OpenAL.
Wireless transmission is possible within a range of 30 meters at a 2.4GHz RF, playback is done at a quality of up to 48kHz/16 bit, while recording is possible at the same type of quality. Just so you know, the headphones and amplified speakers are available separately. As for the necessary computer requirements, 1.66 GHz processor, 256 MB of RAM and 600MB free HDD space are well within anyone's possibility right now.
It is compatible with most versions of Windows, starting with Windows XP and ending with 7 (I actually have Windows 98 running on my computer at home... guess no luck) and with Apple OS X version 10.4.4 or later. While I do not exactly enjoy having a product related to the iTunes name just because it
sounds good, I might make an exception in this case. It is a pretty good device featuring a modest price of about 149.99 USD.
