iPad owners and music
affectionados can now rejoice since SpeakerCraft, America’s
original manufacturer of in-wall speakers, has developed three new
solutions that will bring your beloved iPad in a new class all
together when it comes to audio playback thanks to the FloBox and
FloBox Mini, personal music systems, as well as the Vital 250
integrated amplifier.
So let's start with the
FloBox series that is actually a
iPod/iPad/iPhone dock tucked away inside an impressive speaker system, featuring an FM tuner and a mini USB
port as well as a a CD drive on the larger version.
Speaker wise, the Mini will come with two 3 inch woofers and two ¾ inch
tweeters while the full-fledged FloBox will come with two 3 ½ inch
mid-woofers and two ¾ inch dome tweeters next to a 5 ¼ inch
subwoofer, so this things mean some serious business.
“There is an entire
generation that has missed out on high-performance audio reproduction
because of MP3 music delivered through cheap headphones and mediocre
electronics,” remarked Jeremy Burkhardt,
SpeakerCraft's President.
“We want them to
experience a room filled with sound that completely changes there
opinion of what music can sound like and that is exactly what the
FloBox does.”
However, if the FloBox is
not enough for you then you should take a look at the Vital 250 since
this iPod/iPad dock packing integrated
amplifier offers 50 watts of
high current power together with auxiliary inputs, a dedicated sub
out, a pre-out, a line out and even a composite video out, covering
all your connectivity needs.
The Vital 250 also offers
digital up-conversion for low bit-rate mp3 files, while this will be
available in a few months time for $699.
Pricing for the FloBox and
FloBox mini is not known yet, but these will too become available during
the next few months in black, white, silver, red or yellow colorways.
