If you're in need of a multi-computer control for high-res multimedia applications, this might be one solution for your demands. This is a two-port USB DisplayPort KVM Switch able to mix the next generation of digital display interface with the seamless KVM control of connected PC or Mac computers.

This robust KVM switch will handle resolutions of up to 2560 x 1600 over 60Hz and 30bpp, as for audio it can take 7.1 HD digital audio if connected to displays that support it and with compatible sources. This will suit the needs of scenarios that demand high quality static images, like medical or health care applications - MRI, X-Ray diagnostics - as it can support resolutions of 3840 x 2400, but majorly reducing the refresh rate. It is both VESA and CEA compliant.

The KVM needs no driver or software installation to run, and it's also platform independent, supporting Mac and PC operating environments and can take native DisplayPort computer connection without the need of an adapter. You can share USB 2.0 peripherals via the built-in USB 2.0 hub port. Full plug-and-play support for all of the peripherals.

The control solution is very simple, but comprehensive with both front-panel push buttons, as well as a convenient hotkey switching. The overall design has a footprint as small as it could fit the necessary circuitry and also keeping the users' workspace free of cabling, with the connection ports being situated on the rear panel. Other features I should mention include the user-defined scan time intervals, the DDC2B support for detecting monitors, the hot-plug support for detecting un-plug and link status failure.

The price tag of this Professional USB DisplayPort KVM Switch with Hotkey Control reads $219.99.
