I have to admit that I am not a huge fan of special edition gaming peripherals since these seem just another way of ripping you off to me, but there's definitely something cool about this World of Warcraft: Cataclysm MMO Gaming Mouse since SteelSeries' design team really managed to develop a cool looking product evoking the armored plating of Deathwing the Destroyer.

Although I don't actually have a clue who “Deathwing the Destroyer” is, this mouse certainly looks a lot nicer then those special edition WoW Razer Naga mice that we covered not that log ago, while still coming with 14 programmable buttons and a sensor that is capable of capturing up to 11,750 frames per second so this thing should prove to be extremely responsive.

And since, lately, every gaming mouse out there has to feature all sort of pretty LEDs, the Cataclysm MMO also comes with 16-million color illumination options and 4 lights pulsation levels, although SteelSeries did manage to create quite an interesting effect with these as far as I can tell from the pictures available.

To further boost its MMO capabilities this can also save up to 10 character-linked profiles in the software and 1 profile directly on the mouse.

"Since the release of the original World of Warcraft MMO Gaming Mouse in 2008, we've received feedback from thousands of World of Warcraft players, both Horde and Alliance, on how they've customized their World of Warcraft mice and what they would like us to do next," said Bruce Hawver, SteelSeries CEO.

"For two years, our R&D team worked hard with Blizzard Entertainment to incorporate the great feedback and to enhance the mouse technology and game integration.

The new Cataclysm mouse is the result of that collaboration: it provides a wide range of customization options and delivers a more comfortable, intuitive, and ultimately better experience," concluded the company's rep.

Pricing wise this won't be cheap by any means as it will set you back $99.99 USD (or €89.99 if you live in Europe), but if you insist on buying a WoW branded mouse then go ahead and take a look at the Cataclysm since this seems to be the least tacky of the bunch.
