The next so-called gadget is not even close to a gadget, but one could actually call it as such, namely a desk lamp. This is, in fact, Jessyratfink's
school project for show and tell, probably. First of all, I have to admit that I could not resist not listening to Aqua - Barbie Girl while writing this, so let me get started.
In case you haven't noticed yet, we are talking here about building an electric chair for a Barbie doll. The first thing that the girl needed was the doll itself. After getting it, she started measuring it to find the most suitable dimensions for the chair. I bet anyone reading this is completely capable of building a small chair that will accommodate a Barbie doll so I won't detail that here.
Furthermore, Jessyratfink added the belts that would normally be used when securing someone in an electric chair, and even sued a prisoner dress for the doll. What was left to do was to add the wiring, between the doll and a 9V battery, as you can see in the picture above and to the left. Sadly, a Barbie doll is made all of plastic, and therefore will not conduct electric current, but that didn't stop her from
making the project shine. She added a small light bulb just to show the current situation, if you catch my drift.
Neither was the girl able to fill the doll with something that conducts current. What I find use with this would be, as I said above, a desk lamp. This would be such an eccentric gift for a girl that dislikes dolls or for the evil twin boy. As I graduated sociology, I would so like to have this at home, just for the fun of observing people's reaction to it.
We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is
