Portable computing systems have become a “must have” nowadays, pretty much everyone carrying around such a device, simply because it allows them to communicate and be up-to-date with the outside world, almost all the time. However, we must not forget that most of these products are fairly delicate, and severe shocks might seriously affect them.
In order to prevent these portable computers from getting damaged, Sumdex has just introduced its Aircube Notebook Sleeve, which, according to the manufacturer, incorporates air cell technology for protection and Quick-Check functionality for getting through safety check points as fast as possible, which is always important when you're in a hurry to catch a certain flight.
As its name hints, the Aircube features a semi-transparent system of air cells that utilizes small channels to transfer air back and forth between the cells for overall protection. Wrapped in stretchable, form fitting neoprene, this sleeve provides both high-tech protection and pretty interesting looks.
However, there's a lot more to this layer than meets the eye, because the semi-transparent air cells are actually the key to Sumdex’s Quick-Check system. Hence, with the check point personnel being able to see exactly what is inside the case and designing the sleeve to have nothing obstruct an X-ray scan, the computer can be left inside the case during the scanning process, speeding up the check point process and keeping the computer safe from bumps and scratches.
According to the company, the Aircube Sleeve is available in netbook and notebook PC sizes, and also in Apple specific sizes for MacBook and MacBook Pros. Unfortunately, no pricing or availability details have been provided for the time being, but if the price is right, these sleeves could prove to be pretty successful, given the fact that they certainly make things easier for air travelers carrying around their computers, especially when going through airport checks.
