E3, although said to be one of the least interesting expos in recent years, is sure to have its ups with so many interesting technologies being developed for gamers to fully enjoy their favorite computer or console games. Technologies such as the latest headphones from TRITTON.
Part of the AX Pro line, two 3D surround sound gaming headsets will be unveiled by TRITTON Technologies at E3, meant for use with the Xbox 360, PS3, PC and Hi-Fi audio. The AX 720 is said to be a gamer's dream: it features Dolby Headphone Technology, inline audio controls and also independent chat volume control.
The Wii version of the AX 720 is the AX 400, a set of wireless headphones that does all that the 720 does except for being wireless - the headphones don't have inline audio controls.
Christopher Von Huben, president, TRITTON Technologies, was extremely excited about the headphones, “In front of the entire gaming industry, we’d like to settle the score with the ‘TRITTON Challenge’ by proving who has the best sounding headsets for the PS3 and Xbox 360. […] We want people to test our headsets against the leading competition side-by-side, so they can understand why we say TRITTON offers the Ultimate gaming headsets. We provide products that fully take advantage of the audio technology that developers are building into the newest games. With TRITTON headsets, gamers can fully absorb the ultra-detailed sound elements the way they were intended to be heard.”
Most probably this is not a first, but I appreciate the idea of putting together the competition's flagship devices so the customer can see what he/she buys and how it handles it. I'm pretty sure TRITTON is not the only manufacturer preparing a few surprises for us and I'm looking forward to seeing what's next.
