If there's one IT-oriented market that cannot complain about lacking product offers then that's definitely the USB Flash Drive market. If there's anything more common and varied than USB drives, I have yet to find it. Nowadays you can basically get a flash drive of any size you desire and most definitely of any design. You want an
ice-cream shaped flash drive? Sure, no problem! How about a
Hello Kitty flash drive? You betcha! Or, how about the new Color Turn from a certain company that calls itself Team?
The new Color Turn USB disk (Team's way of making their flash drive seem special) comes in a wide variety of storage capacities, has a USB 2.0 interface and only consumes 5V. As for the shape and size of Team's flash drive, well, it has a cap-in-body type of design (no more losing the drive's cap), and sizes 55mm x 16 mm x 9.1 mm (in short it is the typical flash-drive size). Since I mentioned varied storage capacities I might as well tell you what those are. You'll be getting your flash drive in sizes ranging from 2GB, to 4GB, 8GB, 16GB and 32GB in dimension.
The Color Turn USB Flash Drive is compatible with just about any operating system known to man: Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Linux 2.4 and Mac. Nothing is mentioned about it being Windows ReadyBoost-enabled so I take it it isn't. It weighs just about 11g and is guaranteed to keep your work safe for more than ten years' time.
As for reading and writing speeds, it reads at 10 to 15 MB per second and writes at 3 to 8 MB per second. Not a lot but I guess the price is as low as its writing speeds. I guess, because I haven't a price to give you right now. I can mention that the flash drive will come in Earth Green, Elegant Purple and Prudent Brown (prudent?) colors!
