Since technology has reached pretty much every corner of our daily lives, it's no wonder that clothing items that actually incorporate various electronic devices are also beginning to appear. And one such product is the T-Sketch, presented by IwantOneOfThose, a t-shirt that allows users
to share their artistic sense and “masterpieces” with just about everyone around them, even during the night. Design
He says: The design of the T-Sketch is actually pretty plain, since we're talking about a black T-shirt similar to the one pretty much anyone has laying around the closet. However, what really makes this thing worth talking about is the message board “installed” in the chest area (which will certainly draw some attention, especially if worn by a lady).
She says: The T-Sketch might seem like an ordinary black tee, that is, if you only check out its back, because the front will definitely catch your eye, thanks to its incorporated funny message board. You can express yourself freely, by writing or drawing whatever you want on the board, and to make sure that everyone got the idea, you can even illuminate the board. This way, you'll never be ignored again.
FeaturesHe says: As mentioned earlier, the main feature/selling point provided by the T-Sketch is related to the screen installed on the front side, which is powered by a battery pack (2xAA batteries). The power source can be very easily detached for washing, so there's no danger of getting even slightly electrocuted.
She says: The T-Sketch comes with pens and cleaning cloth, so that you can renew the messages on display, on a regular basis. Not only is this t-shirt a great way to get noticed by everybody else, but it is also a very comfortable item, made from 100% cotton.
PerformanceHe says: Discussing performance when talking about clothing items is a bit far-fetched, so we'll just say that the T-Sketch helps get the message delivered in a much more “bright” manner than a simple imprint would have.
She says: All it needs to do its magic is 2 AA batteries and a lot of care when washed, so that you don't end up with cloth instead of a clothing item. For that not to happen it's necessary that you hand-wash the tee.
User friendlyHe says: This is yet another product pretty much anyone (as long as they don't have some serious mental deficiency) can use. Practically, all the user (or, better said, wearer) has to do is simply draw whatever he/she might like on the panel, then switch on the light by pressing the button on the controller. That's pretty much it. Couldn't be easier, really.
She says: Since the manufacturer states that the T-Sketch is suitable for ages 12 years +, it's clear that this is not the most complex piece of technology there is out there. In other words, if you can't handle using this t-shirt, then you really have a problem. In order for it to accomplish its purpose, all you have to do is push a button, after you have already drawn or written the message on the board.
Value for money
He says: 30 bucks for a T-Shirt just because it glows and you can draw on it? Kind of pricey, given the features. 10 or 15 dollars less would have been a much more reasonable price point, and perhaps it would have offered this product some higher chances of success.
She says: If you are into this kind of displays, T-Sketch's price tag might not seem too exaggerated, taking into account the fact that regular printed t-shirts go as high as 20 bucks or even more. However, this is not exactly an investment, rather than a great idea for a gift or party idea.
Cool factorHe says: Well, it's rather difficult to say just how cool this proves to be over time, especially since there are relatively few people who might actually find it cool right now. Nevertheless, it's likely that once tech-fashion becomes even more trendy than it is today, more people might go for such a thing (although it's doubtful).
She says: I wouldn't necessarily say that the T-Sketch is cool, but rather geeky. The idea of the t-shirt is night exactly innovative and since really high-tech clothing appears each day, the 30 dollars might find a better use elsewhere.
