You know, no matter how many options a user has in terms of mobile connectivity, the user will always want more. This is why TeliaSonera has decided it should try its very best to be the first in the world to offer 4G
services to its users. And guess what. It did it! TeliaSonera has recently announced that it has launched commercial 4G services to its customers in Stockholm, Sweden, and Oslo, Norway. Keep on reading to find out more about this announcement.
But first a little something from Kenneth Karlberg, President and Head of Mobility Services, regarding the announcement that TeliaSonera made, “We are very proud to be the first operator in the world to offer our customers 4G services. The use of mobile broadband in the Nordic countries is exploding and customers need higher speeds and capacity. This is why we launch 4G services in both Stockholm and Oslo.”
4G/TLE will allow users to enjoy their laptops and mobile devices at speeds they never thought possible. No more low download speeds, no more waiting for a page to load. Advanced web TV broadcasting, web conferences and, of course, online gaming are now at their fingertips. The two 4G
networks are available in the central city areas of Stockholm and Oslo. As for the actual speed of the service, it is about ten times higher than that of turbo 3G.
“Being first out with new technology gives us unique experience that we can use on all our markets. We will continue the roll-out to offer our customers new communication services for the future,” added Kenneth Karlberg. Quite an interesting thing, don't you think? A small step for TeliaSonera, a huge step for mobile communications, one might say. Especially since it usually takes just a small spark to light up a trend.
