Everything these days has to be social network-enabled, so Sanyo did just that with its latest Xacti VPC-GH4 Full HD camcorder, introducing YouTube, Facebook, Picasa and Twitter integration in order tot differentiate itself from the competition.
Apart from social network integration, everything is pretty standard, since the VPC-GH4 can record Full HD videos in the Full HD 1080p 60i format (at just 16Mbps), take 10MP photos while also boasting a 2.7 inch LCD display, 10X zoom for video and a digital image stabilizer. Storage is provided thanks to SD, SDHC or high capacity SDXC memory cards, this camcorder also being compatible with Eye-Fi solutions, adding a special "smart power" function that can automatically shut off the Eye-fi card when not in use to conserve battery power. "More than ever, consumers are interested in easy to use imaging solutions that deliver with cutting edge technology," says Tom Van Voy, General Manager of the Consumer Solutions Group for Sanyo North America. He added, "SANYO's GH4 offers the perfect blend of style and performance while recording archive quality photos and videos that people will be proud to display on their HDTVs or share with friends and family from their computer." Since this is a pretty basic Full HD camcorder we also get a basic price, the Xacti VPC-GH4 being available for $199.99, coming in as a nice option for non demanding users.
