As you pretty well know by now, NVIDIA recently launched its
3D Vision 3D glasses, a new, revolutionary way of watching movies, pictures or playing video games. The catch is that you need one of the company’s latest GeForce graphics processing units and a 120Hz LC or DLP HDTV. If you get all these and the 3D Vision glasses, you're in for the ride of your life.
Although most gamers out there already have the latest generation graphics processing unit from NVIDIA, most of them (myself included) lack the 120Hz LC or DLP HDTV since, 120Hz was never something gamers thought about first when buying a monitor or TV. Mostly, all we think about is “Man, I sure hope I have some spare money left to buy a cold one, too.”
But say you got all of these, you are enjoying your movies, playing your cool video games and watching your pictures from the comfort of your very own abode. What if you want to leave and go on vacation? Would you like to go back to the old way of doing things? Definitely not, and here's where HP comes in. According to
Taiwan's Commercial Times newspaper, it is producing a new GeForce 3D Vision-enabled notebook.
The notebook is said to feature a 120Hz display, stereoscopic glasses support, as well as a dedicated NVIDIA graphics chipset in order to drive the two 60Hz pictures at the same time. Of course, no other features have been mentioned since it's just a rumor but seeing how it will have 3D Vision support, I'm thinking gaming specifications. Meaning at least 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD and the latest processor from Intel (AMD would be a surprise).
Pricing? No. Availability or a speculated release date? Nope. OK, we'll put this one on hold then, with the promise of letting you know as soon as anything comes up.
