The Super Nintendo Entertainment System has helped a lot of us grow into the gadget lovers that we are today. I remember when I first received (I was too young to actually buy one) my first SNES. I was so excited to be able to play Contra and new additions of Super Mario with it that I basically didn't sleep the whole night, playing games such as Contra Force or Zelda.
But that time has passed, entire generations of consoles have come and gone. I gave up console gaming for the computer (though I dabble with a PS3 and Xbox 360 from time to time) and childhood. But what reminds me of the great time I had with my trusty SNES is this absolutely superb SNES PC Case Mod that is worth all the praises... and then some.
Built by quangDX and DuPPs, this case is so awesome and perfectly created that it uses a Super Mario World (oh, the nights I lost playing this one) cartridge as a slot-loading CD Drive slash camera and microphone, USB extenders with a striking resemblance to controller plug, an SNES controller that's been redone in order to be used with the computer more properly and a lot of heart. This is one of the few cases that really show the passion and heart that was put into making them.
The innards of this 16 bit beauty are those of an Acer Aspire One. Oh, I almost forgot to mention the connectivity options. Even those, my friends, believe it or not, fit perfectly into the whole SNES look of the case.
I said it before but I feel I must say it again: one of the most beautiful case mods I have seen in a while. I may be biased seeing how I have so many fond memories of the SNES but trust me, such a case mod is a work of art especially from an amateur modder's standpoint, one that I also happen to be. But enough talk, feast your eyes on the pictures!
