Until recently, only Japanese users were able to purchase this special Sanyo-made projector. But now, the technically savvy inhabitants of the USA will have that opportunity as well, because the 3LCD PLC-XTC50L projector finally arrives in American stores, as announced by Sanyo. The Japanese company has also decided on a MSRP (manufacturer's suggested retail price) of $7,495.
You may think that's a lot of money, but Sanyo's toy is the “creme de la creme” of dual-lamp projectors of this kind. The beamer is based on a programmable lamp selection technology involving smart filtering, which makes this Lamp Selection System one-of-a-kind in the industry.
Basically, it offers two functioning modes (“Alternate Mode” and “Delay Mode”) that regulate the automatic switching between the two lamps, according to the way you program them. The first mode uses the two lamps alternatively, while in “Delay Mode,” each of the lamps is used separately.
Another useful feature of the 3LCD PLC-XTC50L projector is its Active Maintenance Filter. Thanks to it, maintenance becomes much easier, as the system detects certain critical dangers, such as air clogs or blocks. When that happens, the projector replaces the defective filter with a clean one.
The ratings of Sanyo's projector Lenshift function are at 50 vertical/15 horizontal percent adjustment. It has a 1024 x 768 resolution, a contrast ratio of 1100:1, 90% uniformity and a brightness value of 5000 ANSI Lumens. The two lamps are of the 330W NSHA type, and the screen size can range between 30 to 300 inches. In case you're wondering how large this twin-lamped technological monster really is, here are its dimensions: 17.7 x 6.9 x 21.65 inches. The whole thing weighs 32.4 lbs.
