A very cool concept, the Sub-Tub is designed to fit into any tiny bathroom where every inch of space is needed and welcomed. This system is based on the “do the most with your limited space” philosophy and will offer its users a
bathtub and a two-sink washing area complete with two mirrors, all in one creative unit. Oh, and before I forget, they also see a huge OLED screen, which acts as a side wall when the bathtub is in use.
Usually, the simplest ideas lead to great inventions and this concept right here is a very good example of this. The designers of the Sub-Tub have just found a way to take advantage of the space under the washbasin, which typically remains unused.
The washbasins and the taps are fitted onto a damping device, which is easily raised or lowered, so that you can use the bathtub underneath. This is where the
OLED screen lies, which can display an image of the user's choosing.
When fully raised, the two sinks using flat shaped taps easily fit into the wall mounted mirror and shelves. The designers see their invention built out of transparent polycarbonate and Duralight.
The taps would be chrome and the whole unit will come with its own plumbing system, so that the mounting is installed in a “plug and play” fashion. The colors for the Sub-Tub Whirlpool Bath & Washbasin Unit are the ones pictured here and they say that it will also have its own mirrors when it will enter production.
Don't know when that will be though, all we know is that this looks like a perfect solution for the people who usually have baths, but cannot enjoy this comfort due to space limitations in their current living quarters. You can check out more details about it on
Behance while I wonder how the OLED screen could be fully functional. With that large screen next to you, I guess
showers are not an option.
