TomTom is doing some worldwide refreshing to their PND range, with a new model of navigation system announced today in the UK. This comes after only yesterday, they were adding
Lifetime updates for both maps and traffic to the XL and XXL models.
Good for them, as they are keeping the sat-nav tradition alive, by introducing a second edition of their entry-level TomTom Start device. This GPS system is supposed to be a forerunner for those that are not used to employing satellite navigation to guide them in
unknown territories. Although it is a pretty basic gadget, the Start 2 from TomTom provides some special features that can be found on advanced sat-nav items.
The gimmick is RDS-TMC compatible for some real-time traffic info provided to GPS newbies and will read out loud the name of the streets users are looking for. There is also an advanced lane guidance tool that will get you out of the intersection in no time. Though it is very similar to the previous model of the TomTom Start GPS, I mean it even has the same 3.5-inch screen size, the pocketable navigation device promises to keep drivers even more stress-free while on the road.
To look a little more friendly for those that have had a
phobia regarding GSP systems until now, the TomTom Start 2 has some optional StartSkins changeable covers that come in different colors.
April will be the month that drivers unfamiliar with navigation gadgets will be able to find this new model on the market and it so happens that it will retail at the same price the TomTom Start did. However, the 119 pounds sterling tag is for the TomTom Start 2 with regional map. If you wish the European Map model, you will have to pay 139 pounds sterling.
