High-tech can be found all around us as it offers some new perspectives on everything we do, from our entertainment gadgets to the machines and equipment we use while exercising. Such is the case of Adidas' new products designed especially for this Summer's Football World Cup, which will be part of the “most advanced” category.

Starting with the quintessence of football, the ball that will be used in the World Cup will now integrate some of the newest technologies. It is called the Jabulani and Adidas says that it is the most accurate ball ever used. How can a ball be more accurate than before?

That's what I was thinking, but it seems that Adidas has started developing this new ball since 2006 and they have now managed to increase its striking surface by 70% thanks to the removal of 6 of the 3D panels on the exterior. The 8 panels the Jabulani now has are thermally bonded, leaving the ball with no stitches, thus improving its power and accuracy attributes.

TechFit Equipment

Another technology that will be used for the equipment of 12 countries is Adidas TechFit, an elastic compression layer built into the jerseys so that players will have increased vertical leaps, speed and endurance. This is done by some simple physics principles regarding the conservation of energy, the TechFit store energy that players lose during regular movements. Factual data was given by Adidas, which says that the power increase can be of up to 5.3%.

These are all technologies approved by FIFA and will come to the aid of players, improving their overall performances during the World Cup and to help all those who will be watching the games enjoy a richer experience. With the World Cup being the most popular football event, the highly enthusiastic football fans will now get an even greater viewing spectacle and less injury at the same time.

Another technological improvement I almost forgot to mention was applied to the boots, with the help of Zinedine Zidane. The football boots will now have a special small strip running down the mid part, which helps players with their balance.
