The little device you see to the left might look like an antenna, but the odd thing about it is
the connector, namely the 3.5mm jack. That's because this is actually ThinkFlood's next generation universal remote control product, developed for the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, namely the RedEye mini remote.
As the successor of the original RedEye remote,
the mini model is a smaller adapter, that slots in the iPhone, iPod touch or iPad's headphone jack, and transforms any of those into a fully universal portable remote control, offering customers the possibility of controlling virtually-anything that
complies with infrared signal, like TVs, DVD and Blu-ray players, as well as stereos, gaming consoles and set-top boxes.
What you see bellow might look like another remote, but that's actually the simple and versatile carrying case for the RedEye Mini, allowing users to carry the remote as a keychain, use it when they need it, and then put it back.
Added versatility is brought by the ease of downloading IR codes, virtually anywhere you are, be it through 3G or Wi-Fi. Similar to the original product, the Mini version
also has a database of 45,000 IR codes already packed, and can even learn codes from proprietary remote controls. With a price of just $49, I don't see why anyone would consider anything else for an universal remote, especially since you could control devices in a showroom for example.
