Those of you who've been following closely the Korean market probably know only too well that the GPS personal navigation device manufacturers from this country tend to add all sorts of extras to their products, probably the most common such feature being DMB reception. And that's exactly the case with the particular device you're about read about as follows, namely the ThinkNavi T7 GPS navigator, which, besides the obvious navigation-related features, also packs a DMB receiver.
According to the manufacturer, despite of its Korean origins, this PND will work quite well in other parts of the world as well, Europe in particular. In fact, the T7 comes pre-loaded with a wide array of navigation maps for all European countries, which include complete navigation data (plus the position of known speed cameras).
As mentioned above, the ThinkNavi T7 can easily use its 7-inch Samsung touchscreen display (800x480 pixel resolution) in order to allow users to view television programs via the incorporated DVB-T receiver. However, the PND also offers support for a host of additional multimedia formats, including here mpeg4, wmv, avi video files, wav, ogg audio files, jpg and bmp photos and even e-books in .txt format.
Now, a little bit of info regarding the hardware underneath the T7's attractive case. So, the GPS navigator packs a SiRF III GPS module, accompanied by a 500 MHz CPU and 128 MB of RAM / 64 MB ROM memory. For adding navigation maps or viewing multimedia content, the PND has also been equipped with a SD/SDHC/MMC memory slot.
As expected from a 7-inch PND, the size of the device is larger than usual, namely 193mm x 119mm x 23mm, at a weight of around 460 grams. Unfortunately, for the time being, no pricing-related details have been provided, but we sure hope to find out a little more when the manufacturer decides to actually push this thing onto the market.
