A few days ago I was writing about
VEIZO's latest line of HDTVs that packed a QWERTY remote control for
easy Internet navigation and while the concept of a full keypad
remote grew on me, I can't say the same about the idea of buying a
new TV just for it's remote, so the latest TiVo QWERTY Slide Remote
really strikes a chord for me.
If you spend some time in front of your
Internet enabled HDTV, sooner or later you will fell the need for such
a device since surfing the Web becomes a lot more simple when you
don't have to worry about typing in that awfully long web address or
that long YouTube video name your mate told you to check out.
At first glance the QWERTY Slide Remote
doesn't look all that different form a regular TiVo remote, but slide
that thing and you get a
QWERTY keyboard together with a D-Pad, that
is definitely going to make your life a whole lot easier.
And since the remote works trough
Bluetooth you don't have to be all that near to your TiVo to be able
to use it.
Also the remote works with any Series 3
or Series 4 TiVo, including the HD, HD HXL and Premiere models so
you shouldn't have any compatibility problems.
The all new QWERTY Slide Remote should
hit retail in just a few days,
Ubergizmo saying that the sell price
will hover around the $90 price mark.
