Most people enjoy the company of a pet, like a silly dog or a playful cat, but I say that the time for them is starting to pass. The times are changing and gadgeteers now have pets built especially for them, which are even more interesting than the living ones. I am talking about robot pets, of course, the kind that will respond to you whenever you want them too, via a simple remote controller. And when these pets are as small as the Wigglebot Robots here, they are a real treat to any gadget lover.
They can be found online for purchasing but I will get to that information a little bit later, as I want to tell you a little bit more about the IR controlled tiny robots I found at makersmarket, the website that also sells them. You even have a video of a remote control caterpillar-type of robot that you can enjoy.
Although very tiny, these robots can be easily controlled with any remote control that you have around the house, they are handmade even cute with their LED little eyes and battery exposed on the top side. The Wigglebots are only capable of vibrating while their battery allows them, which is why they will cost $10 dollars. The more advanced IR controlled robo-insects are about $75 USD and the ones I was mentioning in the first place.
The caterpillar robot is built out of six interconnected motor segments, which form its tiny body that energetically follows a beam of light for about 20 to 30 minutes. This one can be charged via USB.
Whether you are passionate about small robot-like creatures or just want to scare your girlfriend with some electronic bugs, these still remain very cool pets that you can see for yourselves in the video. This caterpillar-like electronic system costs about $175 USD.
We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
