TomTom means serious business these days, releasing a new model of navigation device in the UK, Ireland and Western Europe, thus getting a little closer to world domination through their products. They conquered the States yesterday with some cool updates for the XL and XXL PNDs, earlier today, they gave the noob drivers of UK a new toy that they can get used to, and now they are announcing the XL IQ Routes edition 2.

This GPS gadget is a little more advanced than the one you could see a few minutes ago, as far as its hardware goes and the applications that its users will benefit from. As its name tells us, it comes with the IQ Routes service that can provide detailed information about traffic according to the time of day in which you want to visit a certain location, all on its 4.3-inch touch display (11 centimeters).

Compared to its predecessor, the TomTom XL IQ Routes edition 2 has a new and simplified start menu. It is so simple that future users will have only two options available, Plan Route or Browse Map. Like most of their navigation systems, this TomTom also has the lane guidance feature and the RDS-TMC traffic service. TomTom will even give out a free map update via their TomTom HOME computer software, if an update is made available in the first 30 days after you buy a navigation gadget from them.

Thanks to the popularity of the TomTom PNDs, the Map Share tech allows users to share important information regarding their maps, in their large community. Thus, you can make corrections to a map that others can apply to theirs and vice versa. Map Share is also integrated in the XL IQ Routes edition 2 model.

The TomTom XL IQ Routes edition 2 will retail starting with next month at 139 pounds sterling for the UK and Ireland, and will ship in Western Europe for 159 pounds sterling.
