TomTom's been quite actively today, because, beside that PND customization service we've talked about earlier, the company also launched a Roadside Assistance service for all users of TomTom’s GPS devices and the TomTom App for iPhone.
Unfortunately, since it's available through a partnership with Cross Country Automotive Services, one of the largest providers of dispatched roadside assistance services in
North America, this program will only be offered to both new and existing TomTom drivers in the U.S. and Canada.
The service will apparently include quite a lot of assistance options, including here towing, flat tire repair, jump starts, vehicle lockout service, fuel delivery, and more, and will require drivers to either pay an annual membership fee or per incident.
“In addition to delivering the fastest and most accurate turn-by-turn directions to our users each day,
TomTom is always looking for ways to help drivers reach their destinations quickly and safely," said Tom Murray, Senior Vice President of Market Development, TomTom.
“The launch of TomTom's Roadside Assistance program now offers TomTom users even more reason to go confidently as they head out on the road," added Mr. Murray.
“As one of the most respected and established motor clubs in America, we look forward to giving TomTom drivers access to our award-winning response teams,” added Charlie Cavolina, Chief Service Officer, Cross Country.
“With service available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and 365 days a year, we can offer TomTom drivers peace of mind no matter when or where they are driving.”
