Not that much time has passed since Toshiba decided to add 4G broadband connectivity to no less then nine of its laptops and it seems like the company won't stop here since it just announced that another two models, this time from the Portege 700 line, will also come to market 4G WiMAX-ready.
Apart from 4G broadband, both of these 13.3 inch offerings will come with a durable magnesium alloy casing reinforced with a honeycomb rib design as well as a six cell battery in order to provide users with an impressive battery life.
Other features include a built-in DVD SuperMultim drive, the Portege R700-S1332W coming with a Intel Core i7 processor and a 128GB solid state drive, while the Portege R700-S1322W features
Intel Core i5 processors and a 320GB high-speed 7200 RPM hard drive, both models being also packed with 4GB of RAM.
All these are packed inside a sleek one inch thin chassis that weight just three pounds (1.36kg), Toshiba also offering a dock for the Protege 700 notebook line providing users with an increased number of USB ports, as well as other connectivity options, when the laptop is placed inside this device.
“
4G WiMAX coverage continues to rapidly grow and offers millions of people wireless access in many major metropolitan areas across the U.S.,” said Carl Pinto, vice president of product development, Toshiba America Information Systems, Digital Products Division.
“Now with a WiMAX-enabled Portege R700, Toshiba business professionals will be able to enjoy the benefits of having citywide connectivity at their fingertips.”
Both models are available right now, Toshiba pricing the WiMAX-enabled Portege R700-S1332W and R700-S1322W at $1,699 and $1,349, respectively, decent prices considering their specs and portability.
