Toshiba Adds 4G WiMAX Connectivity To its Extensive Notebook Lineup

High speed Internet connectivity is one of those things that we can no longer go without so Toshiba updated their line of notebooks, WiMAX being now available on no less then nine models covering a wide range of solutions from the 3D-capable Satellite A665-3DV6 to the highly portable Portégé R705-P35.

Select models of Toshiba’s premium consumer laptops will include built-in WiMAX technology, the multimedia Satellite A665 series, that offers a 16 inch widescreen display and comes packed with Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processors as well as Nvidia GeForce dedicated graphics will have the widest selection of WiMAX enabled models, this technology being available in the Satellite A665-S6086, Satellite A665-S6094, Satellite A665-S6097 Satellite A665-S6098 and the 3D-capable Satellite A665-3DV6 notebooks, prices starting at $804.99

The compact and versatile Satellite M645 series that features an 14 inch display together with Intel Core processors and harman/kardon speakers will also add WiMAX to the Satellite M645-S4063 and Satellite M645-S4070 models, pricing starting at $759.99.

Next in line is the highly portable Portégé R705-P35, priced at $899.99, that comes with a 13.3-inch diagonal widescreen display, Intel Wireless Display technology and a long battery life rating while weighting in just 1.36Kg (or three pounds, however you prefer).

Finally, we have the Satellite E205-S1980, priced at $1,079.99, that is available only trough Best Buy, this thin and light notebook coming with an 14 inch display, GeForce 310M graphics, Intel Wireless Display technology, Intel Core i5 processor, a slot-loading DVD drive and LED backlit keyboard.

“A WiMAX-equipped laptop gives on-the-go consumers the connection speeds they’re used to in the office or at home without the need for additional hardware,” said Carl Pinto, vice president of product development, Toshiba America Information Systems, Digital Products Division.

“We are expanding our effort to provide more WiMAX-ready laptops to our line as mobile connectivity becomes even more essential for productivity and digital entertainment.”

All these offerings will become available September 26 so, if you find yourself often on the road and in desperate need of high speed Internet connectivity, is worth to take a look at Toshiba's extensive lineup of WiMAX notebooks since you may find a model that could fit your needs.
