Although most manufacturers try to impress us with their top of the line laptops, the truth of the matter is that most users out there are more interested in no-frills everyday machines so having a strong competitor in the market is extremely important, Toshiba just announcing two such laptops called the Satellite C660 and Satellite Pro C660.
Coming in with a 15.6" display these two models have a lot of things in common, the Pro version adding only a non-reflective display along with textured black finish and Windows 7 Professional to the mix, both offerings basically sharing the same hardware.
This means users can select between Intel and AMD processors, Core i3 and
Athlon II models to be more specific, with integrated graphics while
Toshiba can add up to 8GB of RAM memory and a 640GB hard drive to these laptops.
Other features include a integrated 10-digit numeric keypad, a multi-touch trackpad, webcamera and microphone while, connectivity wise, the Satellite C660 is equipped with a selection of interfaces including two USB 2.0 ports, Wireless LAN, an optional Bluetooth module, Ethernet LAN and a multi-format card reader.
Both, the Satellite C660 and the
Satellite Pro C660 will be available early in the fourth quarter of 2010 in the EMEA region, so if you are in search of a basic 15.6” laptop this will most certainly fit the bill, provided it also comes at an affordable price.
