Toshiba recently added another device to its product line, further pointing in the direction of supporting high-definition entertainment, namely its first Blu-ray Disc player, the BDX200.
It features Full HD 1080 digital output, which can be coupled with a REGZA LCD TV, thus providing consumers with superior quality of high-definition video and audio content to enjoy in the commodity of their own home.
The dedicated function, called REGZA-Link, besides connectivity with the above mentioned REGZA LCD TV via an HDMI cable, also offers a
one remote control operability of the Blu-ray disc player and TV. Mind only that this requires HDMI-CEC compatible devices and according to the specs of your display device, there is a slight chance that some or maybe all of REGZA-LINK functions won't work, even though the gadget is HDMI-CEC compliant.
"Toshiba is a technology leader in high definition products," said Jodi Sally, Vice President of Marketing, Digital A/V Group. "From listening to our consumers we know they demand access to full high definition content. With the introduction of our BDX2000 we are offering consumers what they want with a breath-taking HD viewing experience to meet the needs of today's home theater."
BD-Live (Profile 2.0) enabled, the BDX2000 will ensure that users can take advantage of interactive features through an Eithernet connection. For state-of-the art
home entertainment, Toshiba's Blu-ray player also provides support for Picture-in-Picture technology.
There's also support for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio and Essential Playback, while the built-in SD card slot can take memory cards in up to 2GB for SDs and up to 8GB for SDHCs with - JPEG, MP3, WMA and AVCHD - being the supported formats.
The Toshiba Blu-ray Disc Player should start being available by next month, with a MSRP of $249.99.
