Nowadays every major manufacturer tries
to jump in the 3D wagon, but the truth of the matter is that those
glasses are downright annoying so the latest rumors that state
Toshiba will launch three TV models, that don't need glasses for 3D
content, by the end of 2011, are downright amazing, if you ask me.
I have to admit that I am not a huge
fan of the present day 3D technology, as the whole thing seems kind of
gimmicky to me since nobody can hold those glasses on the whole time
they watch
TV or play a game.
So, Toshiba's announcement sounds
pretty sweet as I always thought that for 3D to truly become
mainstream you have to lose the glasses.
I, however, didn't though that this
will happen so soon, as
Gizmodo reports that
Toshiba will release not
one, but three glasses free 3D TVs, by this year-end.
As the technology used will be somewhat
similar to that employed by Sharp in the
Nintendo 3DS I have to
wonder what the viewing angles are going to be as the 3DS doesn't do
that good in this regard.
If the previous reports are right, then
we already know that the new TVs don't support Full HD resolutions
(being limited at 1280x800) but having to stand dead-on in
front of the screen would certainly be a deal breaker.
Anyways, if this report is going to
prove itself accurate, then we don't have that much time to wait as
Toshiba will definitely present this products over at IFA if they are
going to release them by 2011.
