Here's a product that got me thinking about my childhood a little, more specifically about the period when I was crazed about the walkie talkies my dad brought back from Russia. They were huge gadgets, about twice or even three times bigger than your average toy walkie talkies nowadays, or at least that's how I recall them, but that was happening nearly 15 years ago. One the other hand, what I came across today is almost ten times smaller than those, and it's called the Rwatch-kit.

This is a wrist digital transceiver for wireless micro earpieces, or talking a little more pompous, we could call it a wrist-held receiver for micro transmission from secret earpieces, for spies, of course. The kit itself is composed of a watch, wire, inductive and a wireless micro earpiece that you can see below. As this is capable of offering communication in bi-directional mode, it could sure suit working in a team to cover more ground while trekking or other scenarios alike.

As for the operating range, the Rwatch-kit easily works within 2-3 kilometers, thanks to the fact its features over 22 channels. Even better, this will not only work with other radio devices operating in the same frequencies, but can also interact with them and thus ensure better versatility. Technically speaking, this sports 1-14 channels FRS, 15-22 channels GMRS, and features VOX, namely solely voice activation.

With a backlit LCD display for showing call signal, channel scan, and the volume control, the 300mW TX Power Output 5.2MHz Rwatch-kit is available as you read, for a price you'll find out by contacting the manufacturer. Just like the producer says it on the official web page, this could easily replace a mobile phone, within the operating range, of course.
