Despite the fact that there's a full-scale economic crisis devastating pretty much every country around the world, it would seem that there still is a pretty strong demand for ultra-luxurious and ultra-expensive products out there, since we see such devices arrive on the market on a fairly regular basis. And one of the best examples comes from Polish company Vedia, which has just announced a new and luxurious MP3 player model, the Idunn A10 Amber.
The Idunn A10, which was originally launched in December 2008, represents, according to its manufacturer, the first MP3 player developed specifically for the Polish market by a native company. And in order to draw more attention to its player, the people from Vedia have contacted Jaroslaw Westermark, one of Poland's best-known jewelers, to create a luxury version of the tiny player, called Idunn A10 Amber.
What makes this Idunn A10 Amber so special has nothing to do with its actual features, of which, by the way, relatively little information has been provided, apart from the fact that they're quite similar to those of the normal A10, including here such highlights as a card reader, FM Transmitter, and a dual headphone output.
No, what really makes the A10 Amber stand out from a crowd is its exclusive and exquisite external design, the device featuring a 925 silver casing, with some parts being manufactured out of pure, 18-carat gold. However, the largest decorative element (which also gives the device's name) is the back panel, which has been plated with natural Baltic amber.
For the time being, only ten of these MP3 players are going to be manufactured, and those people looking for such an exclusive product will have to pre-order them, the waiting time for a complete unit being of around two months. Unfortunately, no pricing details have been provided for the time being, but given the fact that, after all, what we're dealing with here is a collector's item, and a very luxurious one, don't expect it to be particularly affordable.
We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there.
