Remember that old movie “Fantastic Voyage?” You know, the one with a very tightly dressed young Raquel Welch, member of a miniaturized crew that crawled their way through the human body inside a miniaturized ship. Don't worry, I am not planning to talk to you about any shrink ray or a movie remake. What I will talk to you about is a new, one millimeter in diameter robot that can do a lot of good things to your veins but will also probably kill you should the users deem it necessary.

And if you think I am pulling your leg on this one, know that I am not. According to The Inquirer, such a device exists. Developed by Technion University in Israel, this tiny robot claims it can crawl inside our veins in order to deliver targeted medication or treat arterial blockage. And believe it or not, it gets its power from your body's very own magnetic field. Go figure! Just in case you don't know what your body's magnetic field is... search one of those old antenna radios, or any antenna-based device and touch it.

You'll see it will get a lot of extra juice and the sound will probably be a lot better. It is not magic, you're not special (don't tell your mother I said that), it is just the body's magnetic field at work. The tiny robot will be controlled externally by the doctors and when needing to stop, it will extend its arms and literally grab onto your vessel walls. Isn't that a scary thought? Having something crawl its way through your veins and etching itself onto your vessel walls with small artificial legs?

Let us end on a nice, happy note, shall we? Say you are eating your morning meal, perhaps reading the newspaper while you’re at it. It is a sunny day and the sun's rays have really created a magical mood. It is perfect. Kids are at school, wife is still sleeping and, all of a sudden, your heart stops.
