If you're planning on building your very own
cloud-based system in order to offer cloud type services to companies everywhere, you might need a lot of storage. This is probably why Verari Systems has decided to add 2TB Hard Drives to its FOREST Container platform, thus increasing storage capacity to up to 26PB. The BladeRack 2 X-Series Platform has also received the
upgrade and can do up to 1.3PB of storage.
“We’ve engineered the latest 2TB hard drives into our compute and storage products to deliver an unprecedented scale-out solution ideal for Cloud service providers, Web 2.0, and high performance business applications,” said Dan Gatti, senior vice president of Worldwide Market Operations, Verari Systems.
“Verari is unleashing the highest density storage per square foot on the most energy efficient platforms to customers who cannot compete without the total value that’s delivered by our FOREST Container and BladeRack 2 based solutions.”
The FOREST container and BladeRack 2 X-Series platforms are designed to offer storage for Cloud, Web 2.0 and global enterprises providing energy efficient large storage environments where they are needed most.
In systems that are meant to be online 24 hours, seven days per week with the least possible maintenance and downtime. Cost-effective and less wear and tear. Pretty cool, right? Although the systems are available as of right now, I am not aware of the pricing. Leaving you with Eric Seidman, product manager, storage division of Verari Systems.
“We’ve combined 2TB hard drives with Verari’s innovative, blade-based technology to give customers a competitive weapon. […] We’re meeting the requirements of high performance businesses, such as Cloud service providers, Web 2.0, and the high performance enterprise, by deploying green data centers that deliver the lowest TCO, the best energy efficiency and density, and the fastest time to market.”
