SuperSpeed USB 3.0 is a huge step forward in terms of transfer speed and, after a somewhat rocky start, this technology has finally reached mainstream since more and more manufacturers release USB 3.0 solutions, Verbatim adding a new Store 'n' Go compact portable hard drive to the list.

Unlike other SuperSpeed USB solutions available on the market, Verbatim's drives comes with Nero BackItUp & Burn Essentials software that allows users to do a full system back-up and restore to their system without having to spend money on additional software utilities.

Back-up data can also be encrypted, if you need to protect it from prying eyes, Verbatim's Store 'n' Go hard drive being available with 500GB and 750GB of storage space, while a 1TB version is bound to hit in November.

“We’re excited to introduce the Store ‘n’ Go, the first portable hard drive in Verbatim’s USB 3.0 collection, and allow consumers to experience a significant improvement in data transfer speeds that will let them complete their tasks in a fraction of the time,” said Charles Klinker, Verbatim’s Director of Marketing, HDD Products.

“With the Store ‘n’ Go, users can seamlessly enter into the new generation of USB 3.0 and safely and reliably share, store and back-up their data anytime, anywhere.”

Unfortunately, pricing for these new units, that are available in a fingerprint prone piano-black finish, hasn't been made official yet, although a quick price check puts the 500GB drive somewhere around the £52 price point (about $82 US).
