Everybody that uses a mobile broadband connection knows that roaming data charges are especially expensive and Verizon does nothing to change that with its wireless Fivespot that can share your Internet connection with no less then five Wi-Fi enabled devices.
Coming in with a pre-installed SIM card, this mobile hotspot is able to provide users with data service in more then 200 countries (120 of these coming with 3G speeds when subscribing to a GlobalAccess plan) thanks to its ability to use a wide variety of CDMA and GSM networks.
Business users would also be happy to know the Fivespot comes with support for VPN connections, allowing them to connect to their office network while on the road.
Although everything sounds really great until now, Verizon's roaming data plans aren't really what I would call pocket friendly, since customers that
travel abroad have the option of choosing from a $129.99 monthly access plan that offers 5 GB allowance for the United States and Canada and just 100 MB allowance abroad, while the other plan available will set you back a whopping $219.99 for monthly access, while providing just 200MB of roaming data traffic.
All those charges I don't imagine to many of you will run towards
Verizon shops to buy this mobile hotspot for your roaming data needs, but if you do, then you should know the Fivespot will be available starting October 7th for $99.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement.
