Streaming Internet to your HDTV!

You probably haven't heard about the Connected HDTV Platform from AnySource Media but it is yet another platform that allows users to stream their favorite Internet-based videos to their HDTVs. Well, AnySource media has partnered with Viddler and Graspr Seek in order to improve the Connected HDTV Platform. The AnySource Internet streaming solution will be directly embedded into HDTVs, thus removing the necessity of having an extra device around.

“Viddler simplifies the challenges content owners face in hosting, distributing and monetizing their video, and that brings us to our partnership with AnySource,” states Rob Sandie, President of Viddler. “The Connected TV Platform offers our customers greater exposure by bringing their Web-based shows to the TV set.”

All we need now is the actual HDTV to have the Connected HDTV Platform embedded, right? Since the actual HDTVs have yet to be introduced. It will be interesting, however, to say to your wife “Honey, switch the TV on YouTube, there's a funny video I want to show you!” Unfortunately, streaming directly from the Internet combined with normal television will probably mean re-launching the couch potato trend that was so in-fashion in the nineties.

How about we see what Doug Vogel, Director, Content Business Development, AnySource Media, had to say about the partnership? “Beyond developing, editing and sharing high-quality videos covering every topic imaginable, the business opportunity in video communications is significant. […] The market has reached a pivotal point and revenues from subscribers, advertisers and syndication agreements will be positively impacted by Connected TV.”

I'll leave the closing statement to Teresa Philips, CEO, Graspr, “The market for online instructional videos is growing rapidly and therefore brand awareness is the key to success. […] Incorporating the AnySource Media Connected TV platform into our distribution strategy puts us at a tremendous advantage over our competition and emphasizes the future of video across multiple screens.”
