I am so looking forward to seeing
touchscreen mania finally cured. I mean, how many touchscreen phones can they make before someone says “Stop, guys, make a good one and we'll buy it!” Not a billion bad ones with processors that barely manage to run the operating system, let alone offer decent speeds. But since that time has yet to come, I am yet again tasked with writing about
a new entry on the touchscreen market: the Highscreen Zeus.
I agree, the name doesn't sound promising but, then again, it is Russia-oriented so what do we know, right? I know, hey, seeing how we already have the device's specs sheet, how 'bout we take a look? Who knows what we might or might not find? Well, now, first thing that jumps to your attention like a Chihuahua wanting a piece of your food is the fact that it uses the Android operating system. Yep, Google Android is back again and this time with a vengeance.
The device runs on GSM/ GPRS and EDGE networks and the TFT screen is 3.2 inches in diagonal with a resolution of about 240 x 400 pixels. It has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, as well as a 3-megapixel CMOS camera with Auto Focus. As far as navigation possibilities go (you know, to use it together with your car), there's GPS and AGPS. The processor that gives it its power is a Qualcomm MSM 7225 with a speed of 528 MHz.
256 MB RAM and 512 ROM, as well as the possibility to expand its storage with a microSD card add to its capabilities. There is 2.1 Bluetooth +EDR, 802.11 b/g WiFi, a 3.5 mm headset jack plus micro-USB. The up to 480-minute GMS talk time may not sound like much... and trust me, it isn't! Pricing is about 483USD, or 13,990 rubles. For king and country? No... for Mother Russia!
We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there.
