The Guitar Hero and Rock Band titles have created a true “craze” among gamers, providing them with what many people search for their entire lives: the illusion of greatness and fame. However, there are certain issues that prevent gamers from really feeling like rock stars, one of them being the fact that the instruments they play on are not exactly very realistic. However, that's about to change, since the dreamGEAR company has introduced what they tout to be the only full-sized guitar-shaped controller on the market, the WarBeast.
The gaming accessory (created especially to work with the PS3 gaming console) is custom-designed and officially licensed by B.C. Rich Guitars, and sports several features that will certainly make wannabe rock stars drool, such as a glowing, extended strum bar for enhanced game play, custom neck with detailed inlays, detachable faceplates and neck and custom skull fret inlays.
Furthermore, the WarBeast sports responsive solo fret buttons, as well as a high quality adjustable whammy bar. Plus, in order to push the level of realism even further, the device is accompanied by a high quality custom guitar strap.
Now, we must not forget that this is, after all, a gaming accessory, so it's no wonder that it provides complete functionality with Start and Select buttons, D-pad and PS button, as well as a Rock Band/Guitar Hero slide switch, which automatically changes the settings according to the specific game being played. Other specific control options include a Rock Band tone switch, as well as a Guitar Hero 4 compatible "Star Power" button.
The PS3 WarBeast Wireless Guitar sells for around 130 US dollars, which makes it one expensive gaming accessory, but, then again, the true fans of either Rock Band or Guitar Hero will most likely love it, given the level of realism it provides.
