Wireless charging is still far from mainstream right now, but the truth of the matter is that it's quite an appealing technology, likely to become more and more popular in the future, as it gains support from the world's most important smartphone, mobile phone, Internet tablet and notebook/netbook/smartbook manufacturers. And one of the first companies to be ready with such an innovative solution is none other than Duracell, with its Smart Power line that includes the myGrid
wireless charging solutions.
The Duracell myGrid makes charging simple by allowing users to charge their mobile devices without messy cords. Once the charging pad is plugged into an outlet, and devices equipped with the appropriate Power Sleeve or Power Clip and tip users can drop and go. The Duracell myGrid can
charge up to four gadgets and can be placed in any orientation on the myGrid charging pad.
Furthermore, it maximizes power efficiency by stopping the charge if the mobile device is fully charged and once it is removed from the pad's surface, myGrid will stop charging until a compatible one is placed on it. And since we're on the topic of
compatible devices, it's also interesting to note that the company now offers myGrid kits for Apple products, and smartphones with micro-USB ports, which are some of the most popular products to arrive on the market lately.
"Consumers today want a simpler way of charging the devices that are vital to their day-to-day lives. With new devices being introduced at a rapid pace, we're bringing consumers new innovations to help realize their personal power needs," said Rick June, Duracell Vice President and General Manager, North America.
