I am pretty sure that the future of chargers is wireless charging by placing devices on charging pads and letting radio waves do their magic. Are you interested in hearing more about this new exciting technology? Keep on reading.

Mojo Mobility announced it would be offering wireless charging support for Intel MIDs at the Computex show this year. By integrating its Near Field Power system into Intel-based MIDs, Mojo Mobility promises to use inductive wireless charging that will enable the device to be charged at the same speed as with a plug-in charger.

Let us see what Afshin Partovi, CEO of Mojo Mobility, has to say about it, “We see a tremendous opportunity in the area of wireless power and are pleased to be working with Intel to bring this solution to MIDs. […] Our NFP system is currently being evaluated by multiple top-tier OEMs, mobile carriers, and others for use in a variety of applications. We anticipate OEM products incorporating Mojo wireless charging to be shipping in the near future.”

Inductive charging means attaching an adapter to your device and placing it onto a conductive charging pad that is plugged into a socket. No more wires, no more headaches, no more tripping.

Pankaj Kedia, director of global ecosystem programs, Intel ultra mobility group, also talked about this new way of recharging MIDs, “As consumers use their MIDs, they tend to fall in love with the rich, interactive, PC-like internet experience. Intel's next generation MID platform, codenamed Moorestown, dramatically reduces power while maintaining high performance and software compatibility - making it possible for consumers to enjoy this experience for extended periods of time. […] Mojo Mobility's wireless charging solution will now make it easier for consumers to stay connected and entertained while on-the-go.”

I would like to end this article with some trivia: the first person to come up with the idea of wireless power transmission was Nikola Tesla, in the year 1899.
