If you have been searching for a keyboard that can do more than just support your everyday typing requirements, maybe it's time to take a look at a product from Brando, which appears to bring together the mouse and keyboard in a single device. Although it isn't accompanied by a catchy name, the Brando Entertainment Slim Keyboard with Smart TouchPad could provide you with some unique features that you'll be most likely going to take advantage of if you are an HTPC user.

Featuring a slim design, 87 standard keys and 18 hot keys that might be customizable, this Brando keyboard looks to provide you with a few extra features to enable a better interaction with your computer system. One of the main features on the said keyboard is the integrated multi touchpad, which doubles as a numeric keypad for those looking to keep up with their accounting calculations.

Switching between the two functions of the Smart TouchPad can be done by pressing a button, although a “swipe” would have probably been more desirable. Still, this is one feature you won't get on many multimedia keyboards available on the market and it should enhance your experience and provide ease of access to the various functions of your media center.

Aside from what has already been mentioned, the new Brando keyboard has been designed as a wireless keyboard, coming with its small 2.4GHz RF USB transmitter that can be conveniently placed inside the keyboard for easy keeping. There's a built-in battery, and from the details on the vendor's website, users will be provided with support for Microsoft's Windows XP and Vista operating systems.

Ready for your own media center, Entertainment Slim Keyboard with Smart TouchPad can be yours for a price tag of “just” US$69. If that is too high, remember the saving you made without the additional mouse.
