It's not exactly a
fish's belly, but it is still a weird place to find a handheld. I am talking about a bag of chips, which, besides the mandatory chips, also contained an old Nokia handheld. This is either just a coincidence of human neglect or Nokia has the most creative PR in the world.
Emma Schweiger of Janesville Township, Wisconsin, got an old Nokia 6810 besides her Clancy’s Ripple Potato chips. The woman's surprise was rather unpleasant though, as, the phone, which did not work, was slathered with greasy potato-chip film and looked liked it once lived on a belt clip, let alone the fact that it was an obsolete model.
Schweiger didn’t notice anything odd about the bag when she bought it, but after finding the phone, she and her husband compared the bag with the phone in it with an unopened bag, she said. It was slightly heavier. Schweiger said she called the local store, and an employee told her the store would pull all chips with the same brand and expiration date as hers. The employee also told her she could get a new bag of chips, but she doesn’t plan on taking the store up on that offer.
The woman isn’t sure what she will do next but hopes the FDA authorities can track down the owner of the phone. Only Emma Schweiger knows the reason for that. However, the woman said she was glad it was her who found the phone and not some kid that might have put it in their mouth. Also, she is even happier that the phone was not in a product that would have needed heating.
At least, this little incident probably made her a bit more careful about what and how she eats from this moment on.
