Just about every manufacturer of computers and accessories out there is showing an increased level of interest for the well-being of the environment these days (mostly because that's politically correct right now, I'd dare to say) and that's also the case with German company Wortmann AG, who's offering users a brand-new, low-power and eco-friendly PC monitor, the “Terra” model.

What really makes this 19-incher so special is the fact that the device comes equipped with an energy-saving panel, which can save up to 50 percent energy, thus leading to a typical power consumption in operation of about 18 watts.

The TERRA LCD 4319 IN GREEN LINE PLUS (that's indeed a pretty long name) is available in silver and black and comes with an external power supply, a feature that helps it attain a slimmer form factor.

The display provides a contrast ratio of 10,000:1 and a brightness of 250 candelas per square meter, while viewing angles are also pretty good, since we're talking about 170 degrees on the horizontal and 160 degrees on the vertical.

Additional features include a response time of 5 milliseconds (2ms ~ G / G), VESA mount, built-in speakers, as well as VGA and DVI inputs.

Beside being so eco-friendly, the new PC monitor is also fairly affordable, Wortmann AG shipping it from stock for around 189 Euro.
