Despite the fact that the small and mid-size business segment (or SMB) is not doing particularly well right now, with the smaller companies going bankrupt almost on a daily basis, there are certain manufacturers that haven't abandoned this market. And that's exactly the case with Xerox, which has just introduced two new and affordable multifunction printers (MFP), both of which are packed with advanced features, at the same time not going overboard with the pricing.
The Xerox WorkCentre 3210 and WorkCentre 3220 black-and-white multifunction printers (which represent the subject of Xerox's latest announcement) combine printing, copying, scanning and faxing into one compact device without sacrificing performance. These MFPs print at speeds up to 24 pages per minute (ppm) and 30 ppm, respectively, offer 1200 x 1200 dpi image quality, and a paper capacity of up to 500 sheets to quickly and easily tackle office print jobs.
The WorkCentre 3210 and WorkCentre 3220 can also scan directly to or print from a USB memory drive, which makes them a very good solution for employees of SMBs on the go, and make use of high capacity print cartridges to minimize interruptions and keep costs down. Other advantages include the simple and straightforward set-up process, allowing users to connect directly via USB or over a standard network, as well as the built-in 360 MHz processor and 128 MB of memory.
Furthermore, the WorkCentre 3220 adds Adobe PostScript 3 and advanced features such as fax forward to e-mail and automatic two-sided printing to help reduce paper consumption, which saves money and is kind to the environment.
As Xerox underlines, the price point of the new WorkCentre MFPs is adapted to the current crisis conditions, since it starts somewhere in the vicinity of $449, which is quite OK, given the features it provides.
