Don't you find scanning to be a tedious job? I mean, so much turning and swapping of pictures and documents just to have them scanned into your computer. What if you could do that automatically? Wouldn't that be swell? Well, now you can, my friends, since Xerox Corporation has announced the
Xerox DocuMate 742, a sheetfed scanner that scans simplex documents at 50 pages per minute and duplex at 100 ipm.
The DocuMate 742 can scan up to A3-sized documents (11 x 17, that is) and can also scan documents that are up to 965 mm (38 inches) in length, thus becoming a good and effective way to scan multiple types of documents at the same time. Using the Visioneer OneTouch technology, it allows users to press one button and scan directly to the wanted destination, therefore eliminating the steps needed to save documents into the format desired.
“The DocuMate 742 is well-equipped for use in a wide range of business applications, even in high-speed, volume-oriented environments,” said John Capurso, vice president of marketing for Visioneer, Xerox’s authorized trademark licensee. “It’s fast; scanning color at the same rapid rate it processes black and white. It’s versatile, capable of handling mixed-sized documents and offering a straight path for plastic cards, drivers’ licenses, and thick stock documents. The DocuMate 742 is an exceptional value, offering high-quality, production-level scanning to meet a wide range of business needs.”
The device comes with a lot of bundled software such as Nuance OmniPage Pro, Kofax VRS, EMC QuickScan Pro Demo, and Visioneer OneTouch technology, plus a TWAIN, certified ISIS and WIA driver. Like I said, a lot! Xerox DocuMate 742 complete with VRS comes priced at 3,995USD and is already available for purchase.
Though I'd rather have a multifunctional anytime.
