As of today, October 6, Xerox Corporation breaks the rule that high-quality color printing is off limits to budget-conscious small businesses and workgroups, along with the introduction of the Phaser 6140 color laser printer.
The unit outputs vivid color documents, by pairing 600 x 600 x 4 dpi image resolution with Xerox's Emulsion Aggregate High Gloss toner that provides crisp text and uniform color. The
variety of tools supplied along with the printer includes Adobe PostScript 3, PANTONE color-approved simulations and Xerox color-correction technology to make it easy for users to manage color and ensure professional-looking color prints.
“A small budget shouldn’t mean you have to sacrifice making a big impression,” said Rick Dastin, president, Global Product Delivery Group, Xerox Corporation. “The Phaser 6140 delivers show-stopping color and performance at an affordable price.”
Providing a maximum paper capacity of 250 sheets,
as well as fast print speeds of 19 pages per minute (ppm) in color, while in black and white, it will reach a mere 21 ppm, the Phaser 6140 color laser printer produces high-quality color documents quickly and reliably that along with the other features, make up for boosting worker productivity. The compact design and small footprint make the printer ideal for businesses with limited space.
There is also a pre-installed toner that gets the Phaser 6140 working right out of the box, automatic two-sided printing, additional 250-sheet paper tray and wireless network adapter to let users build a printer that fits their needs.
The Run Black feature keeps the printer running in black toner, even when the color toner needs refilling, allowing users to keep on printing. The Phaser 6140 even recognizes and automatically skips blank pages in a document, speeding up print times and reducing paper waste by up to 50 percent.
Energy STAR compliant and part of the Xerox Green World Alliance, the Phaser 6140 color laser printer is priced at $399, which indeed is in the range of SoHo and SBWGs budgets.
