Recently, the range of options for architectural, engineering and construction companies, as well as commercial print shops to choose from got a little larger with the latest addition, coming from Xerox Corporation, namely the Wide Format 6604 and 6605 Solutions, that mark the eighth and ninth wide format products the company has unveiled in the last two years.
These two compact systems pack 600 x 600 dpi copying, scanning and printing, along with
an easy-to-use interface in order to provide crisp, accurate image quality on jobs such as emergency service maps, electrical wiring diagrams and construction plans alike. Thanks to the on-board color scanner, the units can scan hard copy documents, turning them into electronic files. Also, they can copy existing prints of various sizes, included with the regular wide-format drawings, namely E and A0 documents.
“What sets these products apart are the simple graphical user interface, high-quality output and modular approach, which make it easy for customers to add features and capacity as needs change,” said Tim Greene, director of wide-format and jetting technologies at InfoTrends, a leading market research and consulting firm in the digital imaging and document solutions industry.
Both the 6604 and 6605 Solutions are able to produce a maximum of four and five D or A1 size images per minute, respectively. Customers have the option of choosing a two-roll paper option for a greater printing capacity. The intuitive user interface is displayed on a 15-inch color touchscreen and makes it easy even for novices to operate the wide format printers. Besides the FreeFlow Accxes that the printers come equipped with to allow preview scans and simultaneous print, copy and scan-to-file, the wide format printers also feature closed loop
color calibration that enhances color matching, queue management for a better job control and an additional compact Gera Butterfly folder, which is an in-line device that automates folding.
Xerox Corporation says that both systems will be available worldwide for ordering and installing by November, with the base configuration starting at the U.S. list price of $19,300. Also, the Xerox 6204 Wide Format Solution will have a color scanner upgrade available.
